There is no problem that cannot be solved by the Rosary

One of the most beautiful spiritual books I have ever come across is this one IN SINU JESU. The book is written by an anonymous Benedictine monk.

From the description of the book:

"In 2007, Our Lord and Our Lady began to speak to the heart of a monk in the silence of adoration. He was prompted to write down what he received, and thus was born In Sinu Jesu, whose pages shine with an intense luminosity and heart-warming fervor that speak directly to the inner and outer needs of our time with a unique power to console and challenge."

Here is the entry from Tuesday, December 2, 2014 on the Rosary. This is a private revelation where Jesus is speaking to the monk:

"There is no problem or difficulty that cannot be solved or resolved by faithful persevering recourse to My Mother's most holy Rosary. The Rosary is My Mother's gift to the poor and to the simple, to the little ones who alone are capable of hearing the Gospel in all its purity and of responding to it with a generous heart. It is to such as these - the childlike and the weak, the poor and the trusting - that the Rosary is given. It is to such as these that the Rosary belongs.

There are no sufferings that cannot be borne peacefully, so long as a soul is praying the Rosary. Through the Rosary, all the grace and power of My mysteries passes through My Mother's Immaculate Heart into the hearts of the little ones who invoke her, repeating the angel's "Ave" over and over again. There are illnesses that can be cured through the Rosary. There are clouds of darkness and confusion that only the Rosary can disperse, and this because it is My Mother's favourite prayer, a prayer that originated in the heights of heaven and was carried to earth by My Archangel, a prayer echoed and amplified in the Church through the ages, a prayer loved by all My saints, a prayer of disarming power and of immense depth.

There are those who find the Rosary difficult. The difficulty lies not in the Rosary but in the complexity of those who struggle to enter into its simplicity. Invite souls to the prayer of the Rosary; through it I will heal the sick of mind and body, through it I will give peace where there is conflict, through it I will make great saints out of great sinners, through it I will sanctify My priests, give joy to My consecrated ones, and raise up new vocations in abundance.

Listen, then, to My Mother's plea in so many places. Listen to her, take her plea to heart, pray her Rosary and, for you, as for her, My Father will do wondrous things."

This is the hopeful message Canada and the world needs right now. We need to say so many Rosaries.

Victoria - Week 2 St. Andrew's Cathedral

I've been blessed to be able to attend Mass here in Victoria at St. Andrew's Cathedral. What a beautiful church it is. It is a real traditional church with beautiful Catholic art and stained glass windows. What a joy it is to be here.

Friday morning after Mass we stayed for a time for adoration of Jesus. I spent some time thanking God for the gifts he has given me. There are a lot. My health, my family, my being able to be here in Victoria. My siblings. My beautiful grandchildren. My work. The beauty and the peace of being here in this church. Being away from the snow and cold.

It struck me how important it is to be thankful, especially when I feel like complaining. Which has happened, you know, maybe once or twice in my life.

As I sat in the church in the silence, I felt only peace. Thank you God.

Return to Ireland - Adoration chapel

Update: A couple of people have asked me what a crying room is. So let me explain.

When we were growing up in Hull our church had a closed off room dedicated for young families with children. It would allow families to participate in Mass without having to worry about noisy children disturbing other parishioners. Nowadays you never see these rooms anymore (at least I haven't), but the Church in Lahinch obviously has one, although I'm not sure that is the name they would use for it, but it's a name we used at our Church growing up (Our Lady of the Annunciation) which is still there in Hull but it moved locations. (I know the original church we went to ended up as a night club at one point. Good grief. At least now there is an English speaking church in Hull again. I also notice that they have Fr. Fogarty listed as Parish priest from 1959 to 1973. I remember him well. He was very stern and he scared me to death. But I digress too much...)

I attended Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after Mass today. The Church has a beautiful little chapel to the left of the front Altar, that also doubles as a crying room during Sunday Mass.

When used as a crying room, the young families have a perfect view of the Mass and the priest and they can close the door which helps to not disturb the parishioners at Mass. As an Adoration chapel it is a very intimate blessed area to be with Our Lord. What a great idea.

I took a couple of pictures of it so you can see how they oriented it in the Church.

The world needs prayer

The Divine Mercy Centre in Lanark Ontario had a beautiful day of Adoration on Saturday.

Willy gave a beautiful talk on St. Faustina. Breakfast and lunch was served for those who wished to stay for meals. And the grounds there are beautiful, with an outdoor stations of the cross and walking paths, etc.

We said the Rosary with Scriptural meditations (for the Pope and the Universal Church, for all who proclaim the Gospel, for the Diocese and all its people, for priestly and religious vocations, for families and world peace.)

We said the Liturgy of the Hours followed by the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

There was lots of time for personal adoration. Maureen and I stayed until about 3:30, but the day continued until 7:00 pm.

What a blessed and peaceful way to spend a day. And with the current state of the world; with the persecution of Christians and others in the Middle East; with Canada's sad state of abortion legality; with euthanasia in Quebec--it was a very timely way to spend a day in prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
